Hooter
can help explain what the Tail Wagger Program is all about.
Hi, my name is Hooter and I consider myself a very lucky fella. I would like to tell you why you should consider donating to this Tailwagger program. You see, my sister and I were in a house fire near Albany, NY where I suffered smoke inhalation damage among other things. After the fire, my owners turned me and my sister over to a shelter. We both were in rough shape due to the fire and not being cared for too well. Since we are both senior citizens, we were worried that no one would want us.
Great news!!! This group called ABC Basset Hound Rescue saved us. A kind volunteer picked us up and found foster homes for us. However, we both came with a high price tag in that our vet bills were very high. I had to have surgery and some teeth pulled and a lot of medication since I was not in too good of shape when ABC got me. My sister Dolly needed many treatments too. Dolly got adopted by some wonderful people who didn't
mind that she was a grand old gal. But I lingered in foster care, not that I'm complaining, but I was getting real scared no one would want me because of my age and physical condition, (you'll never see my homely mug in a Hush Puppy ad). My vet and medicine bills were still high. The good news is that I finally found a permanent home and my health has improved greatly. Thanks to ABC and all they have done for me, I now have the energy of a puppy, going for car rides and long walks every day. ABC needs your help to save other great dogs like me that need that second chance in life. If you could see me now, you'd see what marvelous work there dedicated volunteers do to make a difference in our lives. Please consider becoming part of the Tailwaggers program and help other hounds like me find a permanent home and good health so that we may enjoy our new found lives with our new families.
Thanks, Hooter Rodwell |
