Rosco's Story,
Happy Anniversary, Rosco
It has been a year now that Rosco has been in his forever home. It was rough
at first – he had some anxiety and bad bathroom habits. He would not go
upstairs, downstairs and never muttered a peep. Today, he has made great
progress with only the occasional "accident". He is, however, taller than he
looks and has scored himself human treats foolishly left on the edge of a
table or counter. He once turned the kitchen and a 40 pound bag of dog food
into a doggie play land. He was eager for me to join in the merriment when I
got home from work. He also thought that he could surprise me by baking
brownies but could not find a pan and instead used the floor.
Today, Rosco enjoys long walks down the street, the affection of the
neighbors and his little girl friend next store. He is a "Velcro" dog who
enjoys trips to Granny's house, holiday parties and ABC events. He is a
snuggle bear, sleeping in his own queen sized bed, that he allows me to
share with him. He still struggles with stairs – due to arthritis in his
legs and his knees are fused. Sometimes I have to lift him into the car. He
loves to ride in the car.
And as for never muttering a peep- well, he has overcome that as well. He
let me know that he does not appreciate my leaving the house without him by
registering a throaty bark or with less than subtle baying.
He socializes well with other family pets and their people – even the pesky
Westie.
Rosco has found his forever home and I look forward to many more years of
loving my four legged companion.
