In loving memory of our basset Brandy
December 15, 1990 - November 20, 2004

Brandy was our first basset and the best watch dog anyone could ask for.....forever on guard protecting her home and us. She displayed that infamous basset independence....laughing at me when I would call her and then doing what she pleased. Open the refrigerator door and Brandy was there poking her nose inside to see what goodies were there. Always on the lookout for a treat or rawhide bone. Brandy & Samantha, our second basset, always picked the most bizarre times to play "doggie derby". Samantha misses you very much Brandy. She has now taken over your duties of being the watch dog and barking at those cats who dare to come into her turf. On November 20 I walked a long and hard road as I walked Brandy to Rainbow Bridge. She had been struggling with enemia but is now free from the suffering. She is playing with her friends at Rainbow Bridge until the day we will be united again. We will always love and miss you Brandy. You are in our hearts forever.

In Loving Memory of Rosie Mae
March 5, 1998 - December 20, 2004

Rosie was a rescue dog. We adopted her from B.R.O.W.N.Y. when she was two years old. The way we always described her was the messiest, smelliest basset hound you'd ever meet, but with a heart so big, smelly and messy just didn't matter to us too much. Till the day we sent her over the Rainbow Bridge all she cared about was making sure we were all loved. She never missed a chance to be petted or give you a kiss.

Rosie never missed a chance to get into trouble either. We have so many stories about her escapades that we could write a book. It usually involved some sort of food. She always kept us laughing.

Our house is now quiet without her. We lost Rosie to what we think was tumor in her spine. The specialist told us she had absolutely no feeling from the middle of her back & surgery would do nothing for her. She could no longer walk. Whatever caused this had caused irreversible nerve damage. I promised before we took her to specialist that I would make sure she could go chase the squirrels again. So, we brought home her home and laid her by our Christmas tree and said our good-byes. We sent her over the Rainbow Bridge where I know she chasing the squirrels and getting into the garbage ( her other favorite thing to do)

There's still not a day that goes by that we don't think of you, baby girl. Eric summed it up best. We were looking through photos and came across one of you when we first brought you home. He simply put out his finger and drew a heart around you.

We miss you and will love you always.

In loving Memory of Sidney

On Saturday January 22 at 11:30am, Sidney crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Since becoming a part of my life on February 9, 2002, I have been truly blessed. He was my best friend, my confidant, my mealtime partner, my stability and strength in hard times. He made my new house a home. I honestly believe that he was a furry, long eared angel sent to keep me safe and strong. I owe so much to him.

When I think back over the past three years, I have gone through so much. Life sent so many changes and challenges, and yet he was always by my side. Always teaching me that in any moment, no matter how dire, even the smallest pat on the head or scratch behind the ears could bring happiness. He taught me to look for the good in any situation and in any person. I owe so many friendships and so many phenomenal memories to him. He was everything to my life and my day.

Towards the end, he was so needy and feeble, and yet even in that he continued to teach me to keep going, be strong, hold tight to commitments and never, never stop wagging your tail....

The hole he has left in my life and my heart are immeasurable. I will continue to keep my head up, be strong and make him proud until I, myself, find my way over the rainbow bridge to rub his ears again.

In Loving Memory of Ivy
July 12, 1990 - September 5, 2004

We lost our sweet girl Ivy in September. She was with us for 14 years but that hardly seemed enough. In the end, her heart just grew tired, and she died peacefully in her sleep in her own bed, in no pain. There's a hole in our hearts and our home now, and her basset brother, Barnaby, misses her so much. But it's comforting to know that she' reunited with her longtime sister, Holly, and with her short time sister, Ruth.

We miss them all!

In Loving Memory of Tucker 7/3/98 - 11/8/2004

As some of you may know Tucker was battling Canine Lymphoma for some time now. He was a very strong willed basset and fought it valiantly, never complaining. He continued to give all of the love and joy that a special basset can give you each and every day, right to the end. Saturday Night (November 6th) he took quite ill. Tucker gave up his fight with cancer. He refused his favorite foods, didn't have it in him to walk the neighborhood or even lift his head to see you come in the door. We shared the weekend with him knowing it was our last and spent it by his side cherishing the time we had until his Vet appointment came up. With a heavy heart Kim and I held him in our arms one last time and walked him to the bridge Monday Morning, November 8th.

Reflecting on his life, I wouldn't change a thing. Tucker was my inspiration to get involved in rescue. He was a perfect role model for the Basset attitude that we have all come to know and love. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all of us. Run and play Tucker, as you did when you were a puppy.

We love you and miss you so much dear boy.

May God bless all of our sweet Basset Babies at the Bridge.
