2008 “There’s No Place Like Home” Waddle!

 Friday May 30^th Pre-Waddle Party 5 PM – 9:00 PM

Saturday May 31^st Waddle Day 9 AM – 6 PM

 This year’s waddle will be held in the Village of Chittenango (just east of Syracuse) the birthplace of Frank Baum, the author of the Wizard of Oz.  This year marks the 30^th year of     “Oz-Stravaganza”, the longest running Oz festival in the USA.  ABC has been told that 4-5 of the original munchkins and the actress that was the fill-in for Dorothy will be in attendance.  ABC will be a part of this great event when we will be waddling down the Yellow Brick Road.

ABC's Basset Waddle plays a critical role in putting rescue efforts into the public spotlight and is our largest fund raising event of the year.  So, come out and help ABC help this great breed…there will be games, prizes, shopping and of course, food!  Spend an enjoyable weekend with friends and basset hounds.  We will waddle rain or shine. As we will have tents and a shelter, should the weather not meet our hound’s expectations. The “World famous” Slobber Shoppe will be on hand; peddling distinct basset wares for fellow hound lovers.  Last year ABC had over 200 hounds….this year ABC is looking for over 400 hounds to march down the “Yellow Brick Road” in Chittenango, NY and be a part of history…the longest running Oz-Festival in the country…30 years! 

ABC'S 10TH ANNUAL BASSET HOUND PICNIC WRAP UP The Albany Fall picnic, celebrating 10 years of caring for the hounds, was a huge success. Held Oct. 7th, at the Warming Hut Pavilion in Saratoga State Park, more than 100 hounds and their people came out for a day of fun in the sun. There were games and prizes for everyone. The Big Raffle winners were: Grand prize winner $2,500.00 Debbie Marks First Place winner $250.00 Lisa Graham Second Place winner $100.00 Sara Weinheimer Third Place winner $50.00 Sharon Reardon Fourth Place winner $50.00 Nadine Majewski Fifth Place winner $50.00 Donna Bushey ABC grossed $2,800.00 from registration fees, the auction, 50/50 raffle and toe nail clipping. Slobber Shoppe brought in $1,600 from sales. Great job everyone!!!! Thank You to all who support ABC Basset Hound Rescue. 2006 WoW Waddle Highlights and Results ABC would like to thank everyone that showed their support at this years Waddle! Thank you to all of you who took the time to set up Firstgiving pages take the time to beg your friends, neighbors and everyone else. Pledges are a critical component to our waddle. As a result of everyone's efforts, despite the weather, ABC walked into the waddle with just shy of $10,000 in pledges already raised-which was more than what was turned in AT the waddle last year. I can't tell you how important this was in making our event a success. Read more here...

Thanks to all that Attended ABC's Annual Wonders of the World Waddle. ABC's 2005 Waddle Weekend was a ton of fun! Friday Night Pawty Highlight: King Dudley Gordon and Queen Trip were crowned. Saturday's Waddle and Picnic: Over 133 hounds registered, and well over 150 were there. The weather held off, and we had a perfect, slightly humid day.
