Welcome To ABC's 2005 WoW Waddle Parade Of Rescues Page!!!

First off I would like to thank all of you for participating in ABC's First Rescue Dog Fun Show at the 2005 WoW Waddle. We hope you had as much fun as we did at the show. All of your hounds were just wonderful! Unfortunately we ran way over time and were unable to have the Parade Of Rescues we had hoped to do. We have plans of changing the format some next year to insure we don't run into this problem again next year. However, as a thank you to all of you who submitted your hounds stories I would like to make a special page on ABC's website where we can post your dog's picture and story.

Thank you, Dawn Martino

Scooter Prince loved by Wendie Prince and Pat Price

Scooter came into Suncoast Basset Rescue in Florida with her basset brother. We fostered her for 8 months and just couldn't part with her. She was a wee bit of hefty lassie back than but, has trimmed down by about 20 pounds!!! When her basset brother, Michael was alive, she loved to sing with him, adding her screeching soprano to his gorgeous bass.

Jacob Prince loved by Wendie Prince and Pat Price

Jacob was rescued by Suncoast Basset Rescue from SE Volusia HS in Florida. He didn't have much of personality until about 5 months into foster care. We foster failed with Jacob because 2 of our long term foster hounds were adopted and 2 of our senior hounds had passed away all within two months. Jacob became the man of the house and blossomed into a very precious (more precious than anyone could imagine) hound. We can't picture life without him!
Willow Loved and Fostered by Wendie Prince and Pat Price for Suncoast Basset Rescue

Willow is a very special nine year old tri who we are so thankful to have with us. When she first arrived to rescue Willow suffered from severe hair loss and a painful rash caused from years of neglect. She had apparently been confined to the outdoors and mistreated terribly. But you should see this girl now! Her skin is clearing up and we have now nick-named her The Hairy Beast because she is growing new healthy hair everywhere! Willow is a very smart hound and can figure out a way to get whatever she wants! She the best is a counter cruiser we have ever fostered. Nothing is safe!!!!

Wilbur (Willy) Andes Loved by the Andes Family

We have been owned by Wilbur for 3 years. In those three years we have found that Wilbur is by far, the sweetest, happiest, most loving dog we have ever been around. He is a constant presence in our home, following us everywhere, always with that mighty tail straight up wagging happily along. His favorite things are a nice rawhide bone, some great rough housing with his "boys", but most of all his daily walks around the block. Wilbur loves to stop and have quality "sniff" time and plenty of visiting with everyone that will stop for a nice pat on the head. He just loves people and especially kids. He's the best "Ambassetdor" for Basset Rescue. Needless to say, we love our Wilbur, our sweet and loving Willy Man! No matter how much we love him, he gives back tenfold. We were blessed the day he became a part of our family!

Sir Humphrey Wischerath love by Rick and Marian Wischerath

Humphrey came into our lives the summer of 2000 and what a learning experience for the Wischerath's! Upon the start of trial basis fro a month, Mom & Dad knew on the way home it was a match made in Heaven - Humphrey found a FOREVER HOME. Humphrey is full of love and enjoys attention and much more LOVES TO EAT WHILE MAINTAINING A GOOD FIGURE!

Humphrey loves to sleep on Mom & Dad's waterbed and when people visit the home front - Humphrey always steals the show! He is very popular when the family goes camping during the summer and loves to ride in the family golf cart throughout the campground and everyone stops by to pet him.

This past year Humphrey has been busy riding back and forth to classes at night attending his (human) sister, Rebecca, to Buffalo State College. He even made a special guest star appearance to assist Rebecca in class and got an "A"!!

HUMPHREY IS A REAL LOVE!!!

Miss Bailey Beachner loved by Greg and Jan Beachner

When our Golden Retriever passed away our basset, Noelle was lost. As we tried to help her we found ABC. We applied to adopt. After Gary and his crew came over to our house for our home visit, we really felt sorry for everyone else because we got to adopt the BEST hound around!!!! I can't thank ABC enough for helping us find our Miss Bailey.
