Fenway:
Any baseball fans out there? Then this is the doggie for you! His name is Fenway like the park in Boston. He is approx 3 years old, tricolor male, and with a very sweet demeanor. He is higher energy, and does need twice a day exercising to keep him well behaved. He spent the beginning of his life neglected to roam the neighborhood so he has had little training, but his foster Mom will remedy that! He wants to please, he just never had any training on how to do that. Unlike a lot of Bassets, he does not bark (hardly) at all. He is fully vetted, and healthy. He came to us a dirty mess, but he cleans up nice! He is crate trained, and house trained. No food aggression and is calm around food. He likes his walks but has a tendency to pull when he sees something of interest. A harness is recommended.
Fenway would do best in a home that is active, children would be great, with no extended times left alone. (4 hours at most). Doggie daycare may be necessary, as he should not be left after being neglected for so long, because it could resurface negative behaviors. He would do better with either a 24 hour human companion or another dog to play with so he is not lonely. Crate is a must here, so we don’t set him up for failure and negative behaviors if left to his own devices. If given proper care and house rules he is a WONDERFUL dog!
