Abby's Story,
My daughter, Beth and I had just gotten back from Girl Scout Camp and there was a message for me asking to pick up a 3 year old basset girl from our local shelter. Of course we sprung into action and quickly went down to get her. We had had a not-so-good situation with our first foster but, we were not discouraged about fostering. When the shelter handler brought Abby out to us my heart just melted. She was the sweetest red and white basset I had ever seen. Abby was so happy to see us. She hopped right into our mini van as if to say "Ok Mom, I'm ready to go home now" She rode all the way home in my daughter's lap. When we got home Abby made herself at home on the couch and curled up for a nap. By the next morning Beth was asking if we could keep her forever! Since Abby hadn't met Teddy Z yet I was a little unsure. (My Husband, two son's and Teddy Z due home that morning.)
Teddy Z was delighted to see Abby. On the other hand Abby was a bit unsure of Teddy Z. She had this "What the heck is this puppy bouncy thing doing!!!" She loved my husband and sons. Abby so friendly, she loves to sit quietly for a belly rub, greets everyone at the door with a wagging tail and a friendly "woof", she never lets us forget it's meal/snack time and loves going for a walk. Abby won all our hearts in record time, 1 1/2 days. And we are sure glad she did! |
