Waddle Highlights and Results
ABC would like to thank everyone that showed their support at this years
Waddle!
Thank you to all of you who took the time to set up Firstgiving pages take
the time to beg your friends, neighbors and everyone else. Pledges are a
critical component to our waddle. As a result of everyone's efforts, despite
the weather, ABC walked into the waddle with just shy of $10,000 in pledges
already raised-which was more than what was turned in AT the waddle last
year. I can't tell you how important this was in making our event a success.
Thank you to all of our hard working volunteers who came out, despite the
weather, and helped get things rolling-Barb Glatt, Mark & Julie Harris, Tom
Rodwell, Linda & Tammy Locke, Joanne Schneider, John Robert, The Larkin
Family, The O'Kussick Family, The Fayad Family, Karen & Roger Meinzer, The
Wiscerath Family, Alice Abrams, Amy Dolce, Mary & John Elliot, Gary & Kathy
Penny and my partner in crime Shelly Gordon (and Don, too, of course!). I
apologize if I forgot anyone. I appreciate each and every one of you.
Congratulations to the 2006 WoW Waddle King Doc Gordon, who raised just
north of $2,800 in pledges to earn the title, and 2006 Wow Waddle "Queen B"
Larkin, who raised just over $1,500 in pledges.
Congratulations to Humphrey Wiscerath, who was named "Best in Show" for
ABC's 2nd annual WoW Waddle Dog Show beating out some tough competition.
Congratulations to Mark Harris, who earned ABC's first annual "Golden
Basset" Award, and being recognized as a volunteer who goes above and beyond
for ABC. Volunteers are what make and break any organization. For those of
you who may not know Mark, he sends out all those great Constant Contacts
for ABC, made some beautiful handcrafted wood basset items for our silent
auction, and was able to convince Purina Pro Plan to donate 250 bags of
their Pro-plan biscuits. Did I mention, Mark doesn't even OWN a basset?
John Robert & John Elliot were working hard both Friday evening and Saturday
to get some great pictures of the event. Once they have them ready, they
will post them to website. I know I can't wait to see them.
Thank you all, I am so excited at how successful the day was, despite all
the dampness.
